VRX Plunger Control Valves

Certified to NSF/ANSI/CAN 61/372

Tired of complicated pilotry, and frequent classes to learn how to adjust and maintain your PRV’s?

We have the answer with a Plunger Control Valve!

Do you find yourself wondering if your control valves are actually working? Are pressures stable? Just to find out they are not working properly when it’s too late?

With a plunger valve all you do is simply connect the Plunger Valves Electric actuator to your SCADA System and make adjustments remotely from your keyboard.

we can ship to our clients in a timely manner.

When connected to your pressure transducers and level sensors, the valve will automatically adjust based on the application requirements. The valve is actually quite simple, it’s a lot like how you may already misuse your butterfly or gate valves! A plunger valve is a throttling valve. So, when you need to reduce flow, you close the valve, when you need to add flow you open it, this can be accomplished with either a manual handwheel or an electric actuator.

Most operators think a pilot operated control valve is the only option for a pressure reducing valve, or pressure sustaining valve, but the VRX plunger valve can do it all! Anything you can do with a hydraulic operated control valve you can do with a plunger valve!

Anything you can do with a hydraulic operated control valve you can do with a plunger valve!

So, when you need to reduce flow or pressure, you close the valve, when you need to add flow or increase pressure, you open it, this can be accomplished with either a manual handwheel or an electric actuator.

Simply use an Allen wrench to remove the retaining ring and replace the seal. A series bronze welded rails ensure smooth operation and create correct alignment as the valve modulates.

Why should I try a plunger valve?

Very little maintenance!

In normal operations, a plunger valve will require very little maintenance. The sealing O-ring is out of the flow path. When maintenance is performed, the downstream pipe needs to be removed so a dismantling joint is suggested. Simply use an Allen wrench to remove the retaining ring and replace the seal.

Leak free closure

Some types of control valves are NOT leak free; they don’t even claim to be. Typically, this is an energy dissipation valve or pressure reducing valve. The VRX Plunger valve has a bubble tight shut off!

Less turbulence and safer for pipes

Due to the annular flow pattern, linear flow rate and controlled by electric actuation, you get less turbulence in your system, where hydraulic operated control valves fight each other at times, a
plunger valve only moves or makes adjustments when your control system tells it to! If for some odd reason the VRX Plunger Control Valve has a failure, it does not fail open like a hydraulic control valve tends to do. So you do not run the risk of high pressures, or overfilling the tank.

Common applications:

    • Pressure Reducing
    • Pressure Sustaining
  • Flow Control
  • Tank/Reservoir Filling
  • Hydroelectric bypass
  • Shutoff Valve high pressure/high flow

What many are finding to be true and you will too, is that by using higher quality valves, you get a longer life out of the valve, less maintenance, and drip tight shut off.
