Tired of metal seated check valves that not only leak but can be very loud as the metal-on-metal seats slam shut?
The Av-Tek ® SDX Sliding Disc Check is a mechanically retained resilient seated globe-style check valve.
Traditional globe style silent check valves are anything but silent, with a metal on metal seat, they can be quite loud. A resilient seated check valve helps keep you pump house quiet.

The Av-Tek SDX Check valve is the result of years of advanced engineering and study. This progressive design offers the latest technology specifically designed for use in water applications.
Standard silent check valves are metal seated and have an allowable leakage of 1 oz, per inch of diameter, per hour. With its modern features and high-grade materials, the SDX is bubble tight and will not have leakage. Av-Tek strives to bring unprecedented longevity and reliability to meet the critical service demands of a modern water structure. Av-Tek offers different spring options to ensure your valve performs in both high and low pressure lines, as well as high and low velocity applications.
Av-Tek offers different spring options to ensure your valve performs in both high and low pressure lines, as well as high and low velocity applications.
With its modern features and high-grade materials, the SDX is bubble tight and will not have leakage, due to the mechanically retained seat. This seat is retained by a 316 SST ring that is designed to be blow out proof.
The SDX combines the technology of the silent check valves with Av-Tek’s DEX Double Eccentric Butterfly Valve to provide bubble tight shut-off in clean water applications.
Utilizing the same design and technology of our industry changing DEX Double Eccentric Butterfly Valves, the SDX is designed to resist high velocities. Other manufacturers machine an optional grove and hand press-fit o-rings to a resilient seat, but often they come loose under high flow conditions, or after staying closed for a period of time.
Robotically welded SST seats are micro finished and polished. The chemical properties of the Nickel Chromium SST prevent corrosion between the seat and ductile iron body, while preventing body seat separation and undercutting.
Each SDX Check Valve undergoes unique testing and is Certified for Zero Leakage at the factory in accordance with EN and AWWA Standards.
What many are finding to be true and you will too, is that by using higher quality valves, you get a longer life out of the valve, less maintenance, and drip tight shut off.
